Anthony Nicastro
Singer/Songwriter/Guitar
Anthony was inspired to play guitar as a young teenager after discovering the album Master of Puppets by Metallica. He has since played in many bands and founded Purging Sin in 2011. Some of his other main influences are Pink Floyd, Ozzy/Black Sabbath, Queensryche, and Opeth.
Brian Barksdale Bass/Backing vocals
Brian has been a member of Purging Sin since 2018. He has been playing bass since he was 16 and since then has worked hard to perfect his style. People say he is a perfect blend between Iron Maiden and Primus. Brian's influences over the years have been Megadeath, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden.
Sean Schaefer
Guitar
As native Chicagoan, Sean has been playing guitar since he was 11. Inspired by Painter, Mastodon and Iron Maiden, Sean has developed a style blended by new and old school thrash and heavy metal. When he is not shredding riffs in Purging Sin, he is often found playing a mix of jazz and rock throughout the Seacoast NH.
Ed Battles
Drums
Ed started playing percussion at the age of 14 in his middle school jazz band. He went on to play in a number of Metal, Punk and Ska bands over the years. His favorite drummers are Josh Eppard and Mike Bordin. Some of Eds favorite bands include. Killswitch Engage, Royal Crown Revue, Faith no More, Journey and Megadeth.
